Lisa Pizzeria: Reviews & Ratings
No delivery/Cash only - Best pizza EVER. Been eating here for over 30 years. NEVER dissapoints. Do yourself a favor and get EXTRA thin crust if you fancy crispy but NOT crunchy pizza crust IYKYK ;-)
This was my Second visit to Lisa's, the First being 39 years ago. The Pizza was cooked ok, but was cut into Triangles instead of Squares like other Thin Crust Pizzas I have had, no biggie, but kinda expected. There was definitely enough Cheese. The Pepperoni needed better placement, but overall it was ok. I need to try the Sicilian Crust next. I will be back to try one more, hopefully before another 39 years.
The pizza is a 10, an absolute 10. When you are offered what kind of sauce, I highly recommend the lianata sauce. The pizza crust is crisp and holds its shape when picked up (check that undercarriage picture). The sauce was flavorful, thick, and robust. The sausage was fresh and absolutely delicious. The owner made my pizzas, they were flawless. Did I mention our pizzas were super affordable too? Will I come back, hell yes I will.
Very small dine in area, parking lot is way too big for seating area. I couldn't justify the pizza price for portion sizes.
First time! Wow, what an amazing pizza. Fresh ingredients, great crunchy crust and not too much sauce. We'll be back. We travel through here a lot and haven't found many decent local places. This place has been around for a long time! Lots of cool photos on the wall from the 1960's. Prices were decent too!
Love this place, great pizza, friendly staff, in today’s world you seriously couldn’t ask for more. In addition, the price is good for the amount of food you get!
We went here today for the first time on the recommendation of someone we know. It was really good! The atmosphere is old school, but I like that. It reminded me of the small family pizzerias in the Northeast. Just about ten tables and a little cramped if it gets busy. It's the kind of place you'll drive right by if you're not looking for it. You order at the counter and then find a table. We ordered an extra thin crust pepperoni. For drinks, we had water and a Pepsi. They do have beer as well as wine. The pizza had a good tomato sauce flavor, and the crust was nice and crispy. The cheese was good, too. A little salty like cheese curds. It was also affordable. A large pizza, 2 bottles of water, and 1 pepsi for $21. Not bad! I would say 2 of those large pizzas would be enough for 4 people. It's a solid pizza because the crust and sauce were pretty good! There are enough positives to come back or try out if you haven't been here: good cheese, flavorful sauce, crispy crust, and a good price point. I would eat here again. I'd stick to a cheese or meat only pizza. The staff was warm and friendly. It's cash only and I wish they'd accept credit cards!
Lisa’s Pizzeria is my boyfriend and I’s favorite place to go to for food! Not only are they super friendly and welcoming, the food is to die for! We order so frequently they know are order by heart when we call. The pizza is always fresh and convenient to pick up, and we never have leftovers. Best pizza place in Janesville BY FAR!

Welcome to Lisa Pizzeria, a cherished gem nestled at 1650 Center Ave, Janesville, WI. With a storied history spanning over 30 years, this pizzeria has garnered a devoted following thanks to its commitment to quality and tradition. Known for its extra thin crust, Lisa Pizzeria strikes the perfect balance between crispy and tender, making each slice a delightful experience.
One of the standout features of Lisa Pizzeria is its ability to consistently deliver an exceptional product, even after decades of operation. As Aaron McKinney puts it, it’s simply the “best pizza EVER.” The crust is a highlight, praised for being crisp yet not overly crunchy, ensuring you enjoy the full flavor of the toppings without it overwhelming your palate. The Sicilian crust option is also intriguing, offering a different take that adventurous eaters should definitely consider.
The rich, robust sauce, particularly the recommended lianata sauce, elevates the pizza to a whole new level. Akahdrin Fireal describes it as thick, flavorful, and impactful, which, coupled with fresh toppings like sausage and ample cheese, makes for a culinary delight. The attention to detail by the owner, who often crafts the pizzas themselves, adds a personal touch that is often absent in larger chains.
While the dining area may be small and a bit crowded given the considerable parking space, it creates an intimate environment that draws you into the storied history of this local wonder. The walls are adorned with nostalgic photographs from the 1960s, a testament to the longstanding presence of Lisa Pizzeria in the community. Pricing is reasonable, making it accessible without compromising quality.
Customer experiences, like those of Michael Sparks, highlight the freshness of the ingredients and the enjoyable, crunchy crust that keeps patrons returning for more. While there are some differing opinions on portion sizes and crust cutting preferences—as noted by Tony Stefanski—the overall satisfaction remains high, encouraging repeat visits and continual exploration of the menu.
If you're in the area and looking for a satisfying pizza experience that merges tradition with quality, Lisa Pizzeria is a must-visit. With its rich flavors and community feel, it truly delivers on the promise of a classic pizza night.
